Nicotinic Acetycholine Receptors

Call for Papers: "Nicotinic Acetycholine Receptors" Themed Issue

The British Journal of Pharmacology will be publishing a special ‘Themed Issue’ entitled ‘Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors’ with Prof. Sue Wonnacott, Prof. Socrates Tzartos, Prof. Neil Millar and Prof. Isabel Bermudez as Guest Editors.

The issue will include authoritative state of the art review articles from

  • Radu Aricescu: “Mini-review on structures of heteromeric pLGICs”

  • Isabel Bermudez: “Intersubunit interactions in the alpha4beta2 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor modulate receptor activation”

  • Piotr Bregestovski: “Mini-review with preliminary title "Light in modulation of function of cys-loop receptor channels"

  • Michael J. McIntosh: “Mini-review: Alpha9* nAChRs and pain”

  • Marios Zouridakis (with P. Giastas & S. Tzartos): “Understanding structure-function relationship of the human neuronal AChR: insights from recent crystal structures of its α2 and α9 subunits”

  • Jon Lindstrom: “Advances in the understanding of the structure and functionality of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors”

This is a call for research papers. The BJP Themed issue/Reviews Senior Editor, Professor G Cirino, and the Guest Editors will be happy to consider for publication original articles containing new (unpublished) findings.
Additional review articles would also be considered but proposals should be submitted in advance of the manuscript for approval and invitation to proceed.
Deadline for submissions was 20th February 2017
